Ignore the idiot who wrote about the Simpson’s. What you are going through isn't that uncommon whether you are straight, gay, bi, or anything else. To be honest something like this could have generated feelings of confusion even if you two had never met or fooled around. If it was a long period of time between when he liked you and you realized you liked him, then he may have moved on thinking you would never be with him. Also, if you have not told him that you have feelings for him he may be avoiding your calls because he thinks you want to keep up the "hook-up friendship" and get nothing more from it.
If the guy was playing you, you should feel sorry for him. It would mean that he was going about all this for over a year, pretending all along.. If that were ever the case, you should feel very grateful that you aren't stuck having to figure out how to break up with a guy like that. It's pathetic to play someone, and much worse when so much effort goes into it. The best thing you can do is reassure yourself that you have done all that you can. Make sure he understands what your intentions are and how you feel. Even if you have to tell him in an email. Tell him that you don’t want to be involved in childish games and that if he doesn't respond to you then you will take that as your que to sever all ties and find someone who will love you. By doing that, whether he calls or doesn't, you can say to yourself you did everything you could and you will never have any regrets wondering "what if i said this". It is also much easier to close something in your life by finalizing it in words. You're placing the ball back into his hands and that gives you the upper hand. On second thought, Don’t call.. write the email.. that way he wont miss anything, he will be reading your words to himself and will always remember them and will more then likely save that email.
